about the teaching and practise of writing in schools.
ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø research with the NSW Education Standards Authority found through a survey of NSW teachers, that there are variations in the explicit emphasis on the teaching of writing through the schooling years K to 12. The research also exposed gaps in the teaching of writing and limited opportunity to practise extended writing in the upper primary and lower secondary years.
Researchers Professor Claire Wyatt-Smith and Christine Jackson from ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE) are authors of article. Read more about ILSTE’s writing research.
